Maui, Hawaii firefighter Tre Evans-Dumaran, 24, who was sucked into a storm drain during flash flood rescue operations and was hospitalized, has died.

His death at Maui Memorial Medical Center was confirmed Firefighter Saturday morning, Feb. 4.

Evans-Dumaran was with the fire department for three years. He was recovered in the ocean by his crew, which started resuscitation until he regained his pulse and was then brought in critical condition to the hospital.
