/ 08:58 AM February 02, 2023

Google is on the edge of its seat. The creator of Gmail warned that ChatGPT, a new AI language model, could destroy Google’s business.

OpenAI’s hot Chatbot is the new media craze that could significantly change research on the internet. The certified genius bot can answer even the most bizarre of questions.

From the latest trending restos with a good steak and wine to the most in-demand gadgets, ChatGPT can answer it all. It can generate results in 37 languages in just four seconds.

Only that, it is only knowledgeable of everything on the internet before 2019, so ancient-age queries might not have accurate answers. Nevertheless, ChatGPT is still in all its glory these days.

Recently, Actor Ryan Reynolds was amazed at the results of the Chatbot when he used it for his company Mint Mobile.

Especially with Microsoft investing billions as the company saw its massive potential, who knows where this Chatbot could lead in a few years. This is why many talks are afloat regarding its impact on Google, according to Valuetainment.

Google’s future

Gmail creator and former Google employee Paul Buchheit have already foreseen what comes next for Google with ChatGPT’s existence. He thought that investing in Google stocks might be risky for two years.

Bucket tweeted, “Google may be only a year or two away from total disruption. AI will eliminate the Search Engine Result Page, which is where they make most of their money.”

“Even if they catch up on AI, they can’t fully deploy it without destroying the most valuable part of their business!.”

Google mainly capitalizes through a search engine. Due to the emergence of AIs, search engines could soon face trouble.

As Bucheit noted in his tweet, AI and chatbots can oust the need for search engines which is Google’s primary source of revenue.

The search engine giant earns from advertisers’ fees for showing their products on the search results. Companies earn from this as they gain more exposure to possible customers. Google earned $250 billion in 2021, which is its largest income since it started.
