Ryan Reynolds used ChatGPT to make a Mint Mobile ad

/ 09:32 AM January 13, 2023

Co-owner of mobile network Mint Mobile Ryan Reynolds recently released an ad using ChatGPT. He read a script that the AI tool had composed. Reynolds finds the results “mildly terrifying, but compelling.”

These past few months, OpenAI’s generative chatbot ChatGPT has been making waves for its remarkable ability to write essays and debug codes. The results come in the humanlike text. Generative AI interprets enormous amounts of data and trains models to create new things.

ChatGPT is similar to OpenAI’s other viral tool DALL-E which can create art when filled with pieces of art. This chatbot uses Natural Language Processing (NLP) to produce text-based statements. The program is intelligently mimicking human-like conversation. Its launch had gone viral with many critics and supporters alike.

Ryan Reynolds discussed the new Mint Mobile ad. He shared it through the brand’s Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and Snap accounts. In the video, he instructed the AI to “Write a commercial for Mint Mobile in the voice of Ryan Reynolds. Use a joke, a curse word, and let people know that Mint’s holiday promo is still going, even after the big wireless companies have ended theirs.”

The chatbot is a tool that could possibly transform a wide range of conversations and text-based projects. From language translations and marketing copy creation, ChatGPT can also handle customer service queries and participate in therapy.

OpenAI launched its new AI tool in November. Since then, many marketers have been impressed by how the tool could simplify their tasks and revolutionize the industry. However, others are concerned that it could take away some of the industries’ creative side.

Furthermore, Mint Mobile isn’t the only brand amazed by this new technology. Moreover, Semafor reported Monday that Microsoft is already in talks with OpenAi to invest $10 billion.
