Elon Musk says Google makes links disappear

/ 09:04 AM December 28, 2022

In a follow-up to the most recent updates of the Twitter Files, Elon Musk shared another update in a Twitter reply. The Twitter and Tesla CEO said, “Google frequently makes links disappear.”

The first installments of the Twitter Files involve journalist Matt Taibbi. He is the one who revealed through a series of tweets the issue about the Hunter Biden laptop. Following this is the Twitter Files part two. Another former journalist, Bari Weiss, released files that she claimed were based on internal documents.

On Tuesday, Elon Musk claimed that all social media platforms cooperate with the US government. The two sectors work with each other to censor content. Musk’s response concerns the internal Twitter communications that Matt Taibbi revealed in the Twitter Files. “Twitter and other government agencies” is the title of the document.

Musk recently released documents that prove that Twitter had a role in suppressing important news. These are related to the 2020 elections, Ukraine, and the pandemic. The documents reveal that Twitter actively collaborated with the FBI, CIA, Pentagon, and other government organizations to withhold this information from users.

In a recent series of Tweets, Matt Taibbi also caused a stir. This is after he revealed that Twitter executives have regularly met with the FBI and CIA members. During these meetings, Elon Musk’s social media platform was reportedly given lists of “hundreds of problem accounts” to suspend ahead of the 2020 election.

Aside from Twitter, the government also works “with virtually every major tech firm.” Taibbi said, “These included Facebook, Microsoft, Verizon, Reddit, and even Pinterest.”

Big Tech vs Government

A revelation by journalist Matt Taibbi also reveals that meetings between the tech giants and the FBI’s Foreign Influence Task Force “nearly always” have the presence of CIA Agents. Although they have not exclusively focused on foreign election interference, it had raised “mountains of domestic moderation requests.”

Elon Musk is taking his fight for free speech to the ultimate battleground – Twitter. In October 2022, Musk purchased the social media platform for an astounding $44 billion.

Since then, he has been determined to ensure that real transparency takes hold. With criticism of Twitter’s censorship policies, he is making it his mission to ensure free speech on the platform.
