/ 11:48 AM December 27, 2022

The long-awaited sequel to the 2009 Avatar film has arrived, and we may already know the names of the future sequels in the highly popular franchise.

The original title of Avatar 3 was first reported in 2018 by the BBC. In the report, the BBC revealed the titles of Avatar sequels 2-5. With the release of Avatar: The Way of Water, fans are speculating that the report may be correct about the following sequels as well.

Here are the titles of the Avatar sequels:

Avatar 3 – Avatar: The Seed Bearer

Avatar 4 – Avatar: The Tulkun Rider

Avatar 5 – Avatar: The Quest for Eywa

However, given the release dates of the sequels – with Avatar 3 set for release on December 20, 2024, Avatar 4 set to premiere on December 18, 2026, and Avatar 5 hitting theaters on December 22, 2028 – it may be possible that these working titles will change.

Avatar: The Way of Water opened to $134 million in the North America box office and $441.6 million worldwide on its first weekend. It was directed by James Cameron, who wrote the screenplay alongside Josh Friedman. Cameron also produced the film alongside Jon Landau. The film stars Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis, Joel David M Moore, CCH Pounder, Edie Falco, Jemaine Clement and Kate Winslet.
