Pepsi wants you to drink soda mixed with milk for the holidays
People usually use milk for eggnog or dip their cookies in it during the holidays. However, would you try Pepsi mixed with milk?
On Thursday, the beverage maker launched a campaign encouraging people to try the unlikely combo and share them with the hashtag #PilkandCookies.
Participating in the online challenge through Christmas day gives you a chance to win money.
Why drink Pepsi with milk?
You may have never thought about mixing Pepsi with milk, let alone trying it. Yet, the company’s chief marketing officer says it has been a thing for a long time.
“Combining Pepsi and milk has long been a secret hack among Pepsi fans,” said Todd Kaplan. “With the rise of the ‘dirty soda’ trend on TikTok and throughout the country, we thought Pilk and Cookies would be a great way to unapologetically celebrate the holidays.”
Dirty soda is a combination of soda, cream, and puree, and it has been a widely popular trend. According to Eater, TikTok had more than 700,000 mentions of the hashtag #dirtysoda in April.
Pepsi hopes to take advantage of the trend with the #PilkandCookies campaign. Moreover, Pepsi asked Lindsay Lohan, star of the Netflix holiday film “Falling for Christmas,” to help promote the unique drink.
The beverage maker provides various ways to enjoy Pilk with a few recipes. You might want to try them yourself!
