Bad Bunny is Spotify’s most-streamed artist worldwide for the third time

/ 08:53 AM December 01, 2022

Spotify Wrapped 2022 unveiled its campaign, and Bad Bunny reigns on top. For the third year in a row, Bad Bunny still holds the record for the most streamed artist in the world. Spotify Wrapped is the music streaming’s personalized yearly collection of a user’s most played songs.  Its top-list year-end roundup of streamed artists includes the most streamed songs, artists, albums, and podcasts of the year.

With over 18.5 billion total streams in 2022, his numbers even doubled the amount he had last year. Bad Bunny was already a hit star but this year proved his superstar status. Aside from this Spotify record, he also garnered the most nominations at this year’s Latin Grammys. In addition, he also bagged most of the top prizes at 2022 AMAs.

The Puerto Rican superstar was famous for his hit album “Un Verano Sin Ti.” Consequently, his album is the most streamed album globally at Spotify’s Wrapped 2022. In addition, it has gained nominations at this year’s Grammys.

Spotify honored this “Moscow Mule” singer’s accomplishment. The streaming service turned its heart icon into the same design on Bad Bunny’s album art for “Un Verano Sin Ti.” This album design was also featured in a balloon in the recent Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Top Artists on Spotify Wrapped 2022

In addition, other top artists leading the Spotify Wrapped are The Weeknd, Taylor Swift, and K-Pop stars BTS. In addition, Drake dominated the US for the most streamed artist. While Kanye West, even with his recent antisemitic issues, had also made the top five.

Moreover, Harry Styles’ loyal fan base, Directioners, was ecstatic to learn that their idol achieved the highest spot on Spotify’s 2020 streaming chart. His single “As It Was” from the Grammy-nominated album “Harry’s House” was the most streamed song of the year worldwide. Bad Bunny‘s songs were trumpeting these stellar numbers, which came in fourth and fifth on the top five singles “Me Porto Bonito” and “Tití Me Preguntó.”

Steve Lacy, indie crooner-turned-TikTok darling, was awarded the impressive rank of third most-streamed US song for his famous “Bad Habit.” Joining him at Spotify’s top spots were Glass Animals and rapper Jack Harlow, with songs “First Class” and “Heat Waves,” found its first fans online.
