Award-winning Deedee Magno Hall returns to ‘Swing the Night Away’ ‘18
Magno Hall, a versatile artist who began as a cast member of Disney Channel’s “The All-New Mickey Mouse Club” and transitioned into an acclaimed musical theater artist, dazzled the guests in last year’s “Swing the Night Away,” the annual show when FASO is configured into a swinging big band and attendees can dance to their hearts’ content.
The FASO big band, led by musical director and conductor Robert “Bob” Shroder, accompanied Deedee as she crooned bebop numbers that moved the audience to hit the dancefloor.
“I had so much fun last year!” exclaimed Deedee, whose Broadway and national tour credits include playing Kim in “Miss Saigon” and Nessarose in “Wicked” and the recent “If/Then.”“My parents were able to attend, and I even got them to dance with me alongside all the ‘pro’ swing dancers! It was such a fun filled evening of great music and dancing the night away!”
Added the multi-talented Fil-Am who is the voice of Pearl on Cartoon Network’s “Steven Universe,” and a co-founder of the mommy singing group, Mama Bares: “I look forward to working with Kuya Bob and the awesome musicians again! It’s not often I get to sing that type of music, so I like that it’s a bit of a challenge as well as a ton of fun to sing with a live orchestra!”
Another featured guest, VJ Rosales, is also expected to help keep the night swinging away with his singing style steeped in jazz, pop and R&B. He is a member of the popular a cappella group, The Filharmonic, which appeared in the movie, “Pitch Perfect 2,” competed in NBC’s “The Sing-Off” and shared the stage with Pentatonix and Fifth Harmony.
This year, “Swing…” will be staged at The Signature At Granada in Granada Hills which will be transformed into an elegant night club with masquerade ball as the exciting theme. DIs or dance instructors will be available to guests.
The $125 ticket per person includes cocktails at 5 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m. Tickets and information are available at www.fasofoundation.orgor by calling Bob Shroder, (818) 395-8936, Arlene Ferrolino, (213) 248-9850 and Andy Tecson, (323) 467-5096.
