Filipino who went fishing is missing in Maui, Hawaii
MAUI, Hawaii – A 52-year-old Filipino man from Waiehu, Maui, Hawaii, who presumably went fishing on Oct. 31, is missing, and police are seeking the public’s help to find him.
The family of Joseph Magaoay reported him missing on Saturday, Nov. 12 after his truck was found at Papalaua Beach Park in Lahaina, police said.
Magaoay was last seen Oct. 31 loading a green Pelican kayak and fishing gear into his truck in Waiehu. Magaoay is known to go on overnight camping and fishing trips.
He is described as Filipino, 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing about 180 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He has a thick tattoo band around his upper right arm and a tattoo with curved lines on his left shoulder. He was last seen wearing a blue tank top.
Maui Fire Department and U.S. Coast Guard searched unsuccessfully for Magaoay police said.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Maui Police Department nonemergency number at (808) 244-6400 or in an emergency, 911, and refer to MPD report 22-035487.
