Ever wondered what we would do about the hole “Game of Thrones” has created in our hearts? We watched 73 episodes every Sunday for eight seasons.

We saw the struggles of the Starks, how the Lannisters exploited every situation, thinking of how the battle with the white walkers would ever end, and how they would save the seven Westerosi kingdoms.

Luckily, there are several exciting adventures and fantasy TV shows you can check out right now. One of them is a prequel to Game of Thrones, so we have yet to lose everything.

The Wheel of Time tells the journey of a group of courageous souls who searched worldwide for someone who bore the Legendary “Dragos.”

The dragon is the executor of a vague prophecy which would either save or destroy the universe. This movie has a cast from Game of Thrones, Michael McElhatton, playing Roose Bolton.

Medici

This movie tells the story of the well-known Medici family, set around the 15th century in Florence, Italy. The Medici family is among the biggest patrons of the arts, and this show is about the family’s political drama.

Although this TV show doesn’t have white walkers or the iron throne, there are success issues among family members and problems with inheritance as Giovanni, the patriarch, dies. In this TV show, Sean Bean and Richard Madden, who played roles as Starks in The Game of Thrones, are prominent actors.

The Outlander is adapted from the bestselling novel series by Diana Gabaldon. The movie features Caitriona Balfe as a nurse in the World War II era who is suddenly transported back to 1743.

Here, she finds Jamir Fraser, a Highland warrior, setting the stage for a timeline-bending narrative with many battles and hot romance.

Rome is a violent, lush, twisty, and sexy HBO series based on some of history’s most infamous figures. The underrated gem from the aughts, the show depicts the reign of Julius Caesar as a dictator and how Marc Anthoney betrayed him and later culminates romantic and political affairs with Cleopatra.

His Dark Materials is an epic TV show by the author Philip Pullman, who wrote famous books such as The Golden Compass and draws into parallel universes and worlds, oppressive institutions, and the general growing up experience and being in love.

The Witcher is a TV series based on the story of Geralt of Rivia, played by Henry Cavill. The movie is an adaptation of the Polish fantasy series, which has produced many famous video games.

Knightfall is a mini-TV show with just ten episodes. The movie is based on the Knight Templar’s medieval politics.

This fictional series is based on the story of Roman history and its heroic figures. Spartacus, a Thracian gladiator, played by Andy Whitfield, obscures beginnings and other happenings that led up to his ascension as the head of a slave faction that rebelled against the Roman Empire.

This show has similar features to Game of Thrones, such as graphic nudity, gory battles, and complex political drama. This TV show has three seasons, and it is a show you should see if you love Game of Thrones.

Frontier is a historical series produced by Peter and Rob Blackie. It is based on the intense struggle among groups to control North America’s fur trade in 18th Century Canada.

The lead actor is played by Jason Momoa, who starred in Game of Thrones as Khal Drogo. His outstanding performance in this show is one of the major reasons GOT fans should see this show.

Foundation

If Game of Thrones and Star Wars had a baby, it would be Foundation. The movie is the Foundation stories by Isaac Asimov, and it is a top-notch sci-fi fantasy series.

David S. Goyer adapted Foundation for Apple TV+. Hari Seldon, the protagonist, is played by Jared Harris. He is a mathematician with a group of exiles who tries their best to save the Galactic Empire by defying it, quite ironically.

Game of Thrones premiered on the 17th of April, 2011 – that is, almost 10 years ago – and whether you loved it or not, no one can deny that this amazing TV show became famous worldwide.

The amazing visuals, on-point casting, gruesome battles, and internal political problems were some of the major reasons the show became a historical pop culture icon.
