Ticketmaster crashes as Taylor Swift tickets go on sale
Swifties are holding their breaths right now. Taylor Swift’s ticket presale for her first tour since 2018 flooded Ticketmaster, and the website crashed due to heavy traffic.
Many got frustrated when they went online Tuesday morning to buy tickets for Taylor Swift’s upcoming tour. Those who have gone online experienced technical issues. Ticketmaster emailed the fans who pre-registered with instructions they head onto the website at 10 am.
It’s supposedly the Swifties’ chance to get early seats. However, when the fans went on the website, a message welcomed them, saying, “We’re sorry! Something went wrong on our end, and we need to start over. Broken things are a drag – our team is on it, so it doesn’t happen again.”

Users still attempted to load the Ticketmaster website. But to no avail, it prompted a message saying, “We are currently experiencing technical difficulties, and our team is working to resolve this as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience. Please check back soon to continue.”
Taylor Swift tickets broke Ticketmaster
Others who luckily got tickets on their shopping carts also reported an error when they headed over to check out. The error said, “Error 503 first byte timeout.” Moreover, Ticketmaster Fan Support tweeted, “If you received a code to the TaylorSwiftTix Presale, please log in and access the queue through the link you received via text rather than entering through the Ticketmaster homepage. This will ensure an optimal shopping experience.”
Taylor Swift will perform at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro from May 19-21. Tickets will go on sale to the public on Friday at 10 am. Her sixth concert tour came after the release of her new record-breaking and full-of-easter-eggs revelation album, Midnights.

A few weeks ago, Swift officially announced her upcoming tour featuring her hit singles and songs from Midnights. Since it’s expected that there will be a high volume of ticket purchases, fans were quick to enroll in a presale option before it became available to the public. Unfortunately, Ticketmaster wasn’t able to handle all the traffic.
Furthermore, before the 10 am presale, DownDetector already received a surge in reports. Also, 20 minutes before the presale, the website recorded another spike in the Ticketmaster error. If you’re a fan and still wondering how to score those tickets, click here for tips.
Taylor Swift’s last tour was the Reputation Stadium Tour in 2018. It held 53 shows worldwide that were all sold out. This concert, The Eras Tour, has 52 shows in the US alone.
Many Swifties share tips on getting tickets easier via their Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter accounts. With Midnight’s release being a huge success, this concert tour would likely be Swift’s biggest tour. The pop singer described it as a “journey through all the musical eras of my career.”
