‘Kababayan Health Day’ provides free medical screenings
A day-long “Kababayan Health Day” Oct. 29 offered free medical screenings on blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol levels as well as workshops on dental health and information on health insurance and vaccination resources.
The community outreach held at the Filipino Community Center of Santa Clara County in San Jose, California was jointly organized by the Philippine Medical Society of Northern California (PMSNC) and the Philippine Consulate in San Francisco.
Deputy Consul General Raquel Solano paid tribute to the Filipino American medical and healthcare community, stating that “the American healthcare system has long relied on Filipino and Filipino American doctors, nurses, and other healthcare workers to fight on the front lines.
