PH reps Asia with appetizers at 10th Embassy Chef Challenge preview
WASHINGTON, D.C. –The Philippine Embassy represented the Asian region at a preview dinner held on 3 April 2018 at the Residence of the Peruvian Ambassador, in the lead-up to the 10th Embassy Chef Challenge, which will take place on 17 May at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center.
Chef Abie Sincioco Mateo, the Philippine Embassy’s bet in this year’s Challenge, served two appetizers during the preview dinner’s second course — heart of palm in herbed crepe pouch and chicken and pork adobo profiteroles.
The Embassies of Ghana (soup–first course), Haiti (cocktails and dessert), Liechtenstein (dessert cocktail) and Peru (main course) presented their countries’ unique dishes and drinks for the guests to sample.
Presented by TCMA, the 10th annual Embassy Chef Challenge celebrates culinary diplomacy with Embassy chefs representing all regions of the world coming together for one night only to provide guests with an authentic sip and bite from their home countries.
This is the third time that the Philippine Embassy is joining the Embassy Chef Challenge. It won the People’s Choice Award in 2016
