Balik Scientist online convention set for Oct. 13 (Oct. 14 in PH)
The Balik Scientist Program’s 8th Annual Convention will take place via Zoom on Oct. 14 at 9:00 a.m. Philippine time (13 October 2022, 6:00 p.m. U.S. Pacific time).
The Philippine Department of Science and Technology announced the theme: “Balik Scientists: Kasangga sa Paglinang ng Agham at Teknolohiya para sa Maunlad at Matatag na Kinabukasan” (Homecoming Scientists: Partners in Developing Science and Technology for a Progressive and Stable Future).
Through the program, Filipino scientists, technologists and experts are encouraged to return to the Philippines and share their expertise to promote scientific, agro-industrial, and economic development, including the development of the country’s human capital in science, technology and innovation.
This year’s convention will showcase Filipino balik scientists’ activities, accomplishments, research contributions, and updates in their respective fields ranging from agriculture, aquatic and natural resources, health, energy, and emerging technologies.
