Kanye West’s Instagram, Twitter accounts restricted following offensive posts

/ 09:01 AM October 10, 2022

Twitter and Instagram have locked out Kanye West’s accounts after the rapper posted an anti-Semitic tweet. Now legally known as Ye, he posted a message that violated the social media platform’s policies, according to a Twitter spokesperson.

The Jewish people are not happy. Some groups criticized the rapper for his current posts and statements. These posts that many have condemned reached their lowest point on Saturday night. Kanye West tweeted a hateful post against Jewish people.

Twitter then removed the post for violation of policies. Kanye tweeted, “I’m a bit sleepy tonight, but when I wake up, I’m going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE. The funny thing is I actually can’t be Anti Semitic because black people are actually Jews also. You guys have toyed with me and tried to blackball anyone whoever opposes your agenda.”

His tweet was visible on the social media platform for quite some time before Twitter blocked and replaced the tweet with,  “This tweet violated the Twitter Rules.”

On Sunday, a Twitter spokesperson told Buzzfeed News, “The account in question has been locked due to a violation of Twitter’s policies.”

The tweet seems like a backlash post from Kanye, whose Instagram was also blocked. He tweeted the antisemitic post a day after Mark Zuckerberg restricted his Instagram account.

Instagram took action by deleting Kanye’s posts on his Instagram page before restricting his account. His disturbing post on Instagram circled around his recent controversy of wearing a “White Lives Matter” shirt at the Paris Fashion Week.

The rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs posted a video on Instagram. He is criticizing Ye’s shirt and urging people not to support it. Moreover, Kanye West can’t stay mum about this post.

He posted a screenshot of Comb’s post implying that the powerful, shadowy Jewish people are controlling Combs. In addition, a Meta spokesperson confirmed that they had deleted the content from his Instagram account because he had broken the rules. Kanye was just stuck with Instagram for a while, as he just got his Twitter back after getting blocked in November 2020.

Following their rules and policies, the two social media networks ban the use of offensive language. Although Kanye’s account is still active, he won’t be able to post until they have lifted the suspension. However, it’s still uncertain when he will be able to post on his accounts again.

When he began tweeting again this weekend, Elon Musk, the potential next owner of Twitter, celebrated Ye’s return to the platform, tweeting,

“Welcome back to Twitter, my friend!”

In the past few weeks, his demeaning behavior has stirred alarm among many observers and high-profile individuals. With his current controversy involving racism, supermodel Gigi Hadid denounced Kanye on his Instagram page, saying he is a “bully and a joke.”

In addition, this “White Lives Matter” stunt even prompted some Republican members of the House Judiciary Committee to react. They compared Kanye to Musk and Trump in a tweet post.

Furthermore, the American Jewish Committee said that Kanye had “fomented hatred of Jews.” While the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) said that his behavior was “deeply troubling, dangerous, and antisemitic.”
