However, people are taking it a step further with cold press juicers. Why get some of the nutrients when I can get them all? Cold press juicers preserve the bulk of nutrients, vitamins, and microflora in fruits using a hydraulic process.

Cold press juicing takes a longer time to extract juice from fruits. The time required depends on the hardness of the fruits.

Cold press juicer vs. normal juicer

Heat is a common enemy to all matter, living or not living. Hence, the essential nutrients in your fruits can be damaged when exposed to high heat from traditional juicers (single auger or centrifugal).

In traditional juicers, high spinning blades and a filter grind and crush the fruit components, introducing high heat into the juicer system.

The high heat causes the chemical structure of the vitamins and nutrients to break. Once the structure of a chemical substance changes, it can no longer function as it should when introduced into a biological system (for instance, human beings).

In addition, centrifugal juicers also abet the oxidation of the fruits, which isn’t good for us.

Cold press juicing is almost the same everywhere, but little details might vary depending on the juicer’s manufacturer. The juicer we used in this guide is the Ninja cold press juicer. Check out this video to see the below-described juicer parts for yourself.

Components of the Ninja cold press Juicer

Before learning how to use an instrument, you must first recognize its various parts and their respective functions. Below are the components you will find in the Ninja cold press juicer.

Three interchangeable pulp filters

Pulp filters help regulate the amount of pulp in your orange juice. Our pulp preferences differ; sometimes, our mood determines the amount of pulp we want in our juice. Being able to control the amount of pulp in your juice is a great feature.

  • Orange-colored “lots of” pulp filter: When craving pulpy orange juice, choose the orange-colored pulp filter.
  • Gray “some pulp” pulp filter: when you’re in the mood for a bit of pulp in your orange juice, go for the gray pulp filter.
  • Black  “no pulp” filter: the black pulp filter removes every trace of pulp in your orange juice. Use it to get your pulp-free orange juice.

Motor Base and Auger

150-watt motor base and stainless steel auger. The motor base is responsible for rotating the drill slowly to get the juice out of the fruit without destroying its nutrients.

Others

  • The anti-drip lever to avoid drippage, maintain clean surfaces and eliminate waste.
  • A 16-ounce juice jug is used to collect the juice, and a spacious pulp container collects the pulp content.
  • If you run out of fruit juice ideas, the juicer comes with an Inspiration guide with ten recipes. Ensure you explore.

Steps to make fruit juice using the cold press juicer

How To Use a Cold Press Juicer

  1. Install the drill into the feed chute to assemble the cold press juicer. Then, place the preferred filter on the drill. Please note that the metal part of the pulp filter is meant to be positioned at the drill’s bottom.
  2. Position the pulp spout on the feed chute chamber. The pulp spout makes way for the pulp extracted during the juicing process, making it easy for it to be exited into the spacious pulp container.
  3. Ensure that the pulp spout is locked in, position it at an angle and turn it in the anticlockwise direction.
  4. Once the “stem” of the cold press juicer is ready, you will need to lock it into the mother base. To do this, position the feed chute chamber on the motor base at an angle and turn it clockwise until it is firm.
  5. Put the food tray on the feed chute to input the fruit ingredients.
  6. The final steps are the easiest ones. Put the pulp container on the feed chute chamber under the spout and the juice jug beneath the anti-drip lever. Doing this prevents spillage and wastage of juice or pulp content.
  7. When juicing, open the anti-drip level and close tightly when you are done to prevent drippage of any form.
  8. Before placing your fruits into the cold press juicer, halve them to make processing easier. Once you are ready, press start. Once juicing is complete, press stop. If you encounter blockage while juicing, use the reverse function to clear out the blockage. To activate the reverse function, press and hold the reverse button. You will hear a beep sound when the reverse function is activated.
  9. After a short pause, the drill will rotate counterclockwise to clear out the blockage. To continue juicing, release the reverse button.

What are the health advantages of using a cold press juicer

One of the most underrated diseases of the modern world is speed. We want everything now without considering the consequences of processed foods

Unlike natural foods, processed edibles have way fewer nutrients and a bunch of unhealthy preservatives. People who live in urban areas suffer from high-stress levels and environmental pollution; hence they require more nutrients than those on the rural side.

The nutrients you miss out on in processed foods can be recovered from homemade fruit juices. Again, going for processed fruit juices is a no-no. The health-boosting compounds you can expect from homemade juices are antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and plant nutrients that build up the strength of your white blood cells (aka leucocytes).

As we mentioned earlier, centrifugal juicers don’t bring out the best in fruit juices. But fortunately for us, cold press juicers do. Below are the full benefits of drinking cold-pressed juices.

Protects you against diseases

Blessed with high antioxidant compounds and fiber, fruits and veggies help boost your immune system, giving you better chances of warding off diseases. The list of diseases you can curb with the aid of cold press juices is endless. Some of these ailments include stroke and Alzheimer’s disease.

Destroys food spoilage organisms

One of the significant challenges of fresh homemade juices is storage. The average Joe does not have the luxury of time to make juices every time they crave a cup of cold juice.

Cold-pressed juices tend to last longer than those made with centrifugal juicers because cold-pressed juicers truncate the structural design of the food spoilage bacteria, preserving the taste and quality of cold-pressed juices for weeks, if not months.

You must store the cold-pressed juice in freezers. Not doing so can cause the juice to go sour for days.

More Nutrients

With cold press juicers, you will get more juice and pulp for every ounce of fruit. Plus, there’s a bit of consistency of pulp and fiber in cold-pressed juices.

Final Thoughts

The prominence of cold press juices goes beyond taste or luxury. Cold press juices have significant health benefits, and an investment in a masticating juicer is worth every dime. We hope you’ve gained helpful insight into how to use a juicer.
