Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds Announce Pregnancy with Fourth Child

Blake Lively turned heads with a special announcement on the red carpet at Forbes’s Women, Power Summit. On September 15, she revealed she is pregnant and expecting her fourth child with her husband, Ryan Reynolds. 

Lively alluded to expanding her family during the event, saying, “I just like to create. Whether that’s baking or storytelling or businesses or humans, I just really like creating.”

It is not the first unique pregnancy reveal from Lively. In 2019, she announced her third pregnancy at Reynolds’ Detective Pikachu movie premiere.

Reynolds and Lively tied the knot in 2012 to keep their children away from the public. Now, they have three daughters: 7-year-old James, 5-year-old Inez, and 3-year-old Betty. Lively also said the following to Forbes in May:

“Having children for me made me feel so much more in my skin. I never felt more myself or at ease in my own body or more confident—not to say that there aren’t a bevy of insecurities coming at me a million times a day, but I just feel incredibly settled.”

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are such devoted parents that the former recently took a “sabbatical” from his career to focus on family. Lively told LinkedIn in December 2021, “The biggest thing for me … is that I don’t want to miss this time with my kids.”

Reynolds also said that he wants his family to live like “normal humans” with routines: “For many years when my wife Blake would shoot a film, I would not shoot a film, and I would be with the kids and vice versa,” he said. 

“We never really worked at the same time, but always we were away, so the kids were away, too. Now that they’re in school, they have a somewhat normal schedule. I think it’s totally important for their development and I really enjoy being a present dad. I love taking them to school in the morning. I love picking them up.”

Blake Lively joked in an interview with Good Morning America about having “3,000 kids” because having three kids is “crazy.” She and Ryan Reynolds can expect crazier moments with their fourth child.
