Filipino Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii marks 68th year
Hawaii Governor David Ige thanked the Filipino Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii during a banquet attended by business leaders Aug. 21, for its 68 years of supporting and promoting the state’s entrepreneurs.
Founded in 1954, the Filipino Chamber of Commerce is reputedly the oldest and largest Filipino Chamber in the U.S. Filipinos are the third largest ethnic group in Hawaii.
The Chamber provides business improvement programs and networking opportunities for its member entrepreneurs. It also awards college scholarships to deserving Hawaii high school seniors to promote pursuit of higher education.
Its current president, Rocky Anguay, is assistant vice president and Pearl City Branch manager of First Hawaiian Bank.
