5 tips for Spring Break done right

Spring break is just around the corner, and the question is, are you ready for an adventure? Here are the only tips you will need to enjoy a holiday as stress-free as possible, whether it’s just by yourself or with family and/or friends.

Plan ahead

When going on a trip with a group, you need more time and effort for planning. Having different schedules, budgets, and preferences can be quite a challenge to bring together compared with traveling alone or with a single partner. List your #travelgoals beforehand. Be on the lookout for airfare promos, travel deals, shopping sale, and above all do research on the places you wish to visit. Have your travel documents processed earlier to avoid cramming and other travel mishaps.

Don’t join the hype

While you may be tempted to travel on roads leading to Malibu, Florida, Europe, or somewhere that most adventurers will head for, why not steer clear of the mainstream? Journey off the beaten path, and it might be the most memorable trip that could happen to you and your group. Since you’re going on a getaway, make the most of your rest and relaxation time. Some are after the escape from their mundane cycles, while others want the bustle of a crowd while on a trip. Though it still depends on the kind of travel you want, it wouldn’t hurt to get the best of both rest and relaxation somewhere exciting and different.

List your must-haves

Start making your list months or weeks earlier. Look forward to spring sales that might happen a few days before your trip and jot down the things you need (and maybe want) to shop for. It’s never fun to realize you forgot your pretty cover-up or sunglasses the day you’re going island-hopping. Not everyone does lists, but taking a photo(s) of the things you plan to bring, specifically of the clothes you’ll need, helps as well. Note, #ootd is goals. Have a basic list of the priorities such as travel documents and other significant must-haves for a trip. While it’s a bummer to forget some clothes, it’s worse having to forget your passport or ID. Also, nothing says “preparedness” like having a medical/emergency kit so be sure to bring one.

Keep an eye on everyone

Best tip is to have fun. But too much of anything isn’t good either. Assign a designated watcher for each when traveling in a group. Remember the headcount and do check on each other once in a while. If going on a solo trip, do inform your close friends or family of your itinerary. Keep tabs; however, not every second, of course. You’re not going to go on a break to be constantly on the lookout. Just keep your guard up, travel wisely, and stay connected.

Get ready to wing it

The reason behind having things settled in advance is to have your vacation well-planned out. Sorry to break your bubble, but to travel means expecting the unexpected. Despite your efforts to plan out the perfect tours, food trips, Instagram goals, not everything may happen as you expect them to. Sticking to a schedule is a must, of course, especially when going on a group tour. However, when things don’t pan out the way the way they were planned, don’t feel bummed and let it ruin the fun. An open mind and a good backup plan can work as well (sometimes even better!). Don’t hesitate to look into alternatives to your itinerary. Awful weather, technical difficulties, and maybe dips in health might sound like the end of your fun, but hey, every dark cloud has a silver lining. The game changer is how you deal with unexpected problems.

Nothing beats feeling the excitement for an upcoming vacation! You can never run out of tips and tricks, guides and must-dos to help you make the best adventure this spring break. But it is also important to be reminded to not dwell so much on the specifics that you end up running out of time for all the great things around you. Spring is all about new beginnings anyway; make this an amazing start to better adventures to come.
