NBA Update: Will injured Steph Curry miss the game four of the NBA Finals?

/ 08:45 AM June 09, 2022

With the NBA Finals still ongoing, Warriors’ star player Stephen Curry in injury was daunting for the whole team. After the unexpected ankle injury, “I’ll be alright” is all Curry could say.

After losing the Game 3 at 116-110, the Golden State Warriors thought it was all they lost. During the later part of the fourth quarter, Steph Curry was in deep pain. Boston Celtics’ huge guy Al Hereford accidentally landed on top of Curry’s lower leg during a battle for the loose ball.

Stephen Curry said after Game 3, “I got caught underneath Al (Hereford). Obviously, there will be some pain, but I’ll be alright. Figure out how it feels tomorrow and get ready for Friday. It was the same thing I did against Boston during the regular season.”

With 31 points on Wednesday night game, Stephen Curry stays up to his feet. He even stayed in the game for a few more minutes before coach Steve Kerr pulled him out of the game.

Kerr said, “The injury didn’t force him out of the game, but I took him out down 14 with two minutes left because we weren’t going to catch up.”

Reporters asked coach Kerr about the injury. Kerr said that they will know the complete details by Thursday.

Good news for the fans, Curry said that he felt it was just like a mild foot sprain. The Golden State Warriors fans are hopeful it’s nothing serious.

To put Curry’s fans at ease, Curry said on a positive note, “I don’t feel like I’ll miss a game.”

Warriors’ star guard player Curry was already bruised and battered in the recent games. And he got even more bruised up on the game 3 on Wednesday.

Moreover, his teammates are hopeful and positive Curry could still come back for Game four. Warriors’ swingman Klay Thompson said, “I know Steph is going to do everything he can in his power to play. I am really hoping he’s okay because he’s our identity, without him, it will be very difficult.”

It’s impossible to miss Curry’s role and overall impact on the team. His whole offensive attack is crucial for the team’s winnings. So they have to be positive he won’t have to miss any game at this point. With how he addressed his injury, it doesn’t sound like it will be the reason he will miss any game at this part of the season.

If the injury happened during a regular season, perhaps Curry would have missed some games. However, we’re talking about the NBA Finals here. The Warriors’ star player is well aware of the cost if he’ll ever miss a game.

Going back to the NBA Finals seven years ago, the Warriors are in almost the same situation being down to two games to one to Cleveland Cavaliers and Lebron James. But this game doesn’t include Kevin Love and Irving yet. The Finals ended up with the Warriors dominating the last three games capturing their first title under Kerr.

Although there’s no Lebron James now, the Warriors are older now. While they can still use the same energy, it’s just a matter of the duration of their endurance. Also, if they can succeed with Draymond Green playing ineffectively.
