Iconic ‘Goodfellas’ actor Ray Liotta has died at 67
American actor Ray Liotta, famous for his lead role in the gangster movie classic ‘Goodfellas,’ has died at 67.
Though he will be forever remembered for his role in Martin Scorsese’s 1990 masterpiece, Liotta had a long and successful career in Hollywood spanning over three decades. His sudden death has left many fans and colleagues saddened and mourning.
The Emmy-award winner died in his sleep while he was in the Dominican Republic. Liotta was here to shoot the movie “Dangerous Waters.” He was supposed to star alongside Odeya Rush and Eric Dane.

Dangerous Waters producers’ said, “We were deeply saddened to learn of Ray’s passing. It’s a tremendous loss, and our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, fiancee Jack and daughter Karsen.”
In addition, he was survived by his fiancee Jack Nittolo and daughter Karen who is now 23 years old. Her mother was Liotta’s ex-wife Michelle Grace.
According to a reliable source, there is no foul play in his death. Moreover, there haven’t been any speculations of such. Nittolo was with him when he died.
While his acting career was already decades-long, he was well-known for playing the role of Henry Hill. This 1980 classic film by Martin Scorsese is the “Goodfellas.” In this mob film classic, Liotta starred alongside Joe Pesci and Robert De Niro.

Aside from the legendary film “Goodfellas,” Liotta also appeared in “Field of Dreams.” He also starred in several TV series, such as the “Shaded of Blue” and an episode of “ER.”
This ER episode was his golden ticket to winning the 2005 Emmy. He bagged the outstanding guest actor in a drama series award.
He recently starred in the prequel movie of Sopranos – The Many Saints of Newark. In addition, he also appeared the Amazon Prime series, Hanna.

A Family Man
On Christmas of 2020, Liotta announced his engagement to Nittolo, who’s a mom of four. He wrote on Instagram, “Christmas wishes do come true. I asked the love of my life to marry me, and thank God she said yes!!!”

Liotta wasn’t also hesitant to share his perceptions about a family with the world. He once told in a PEOPLE interview about not taking your family for granted. His foster parents adopted him from an orphanage when he was a baby then he grew up in New Jersey.
Liotta said, “At first, I didn’t understand how a parent could give up a child,” he said. “So I had that kind of energy of just being like, that’s f—d up. And then, when I finally met my birth mom in my 40s, I wasn’t as angry about it by then. It’s just another journey.”
The outpour of condolences from Liotta’s friends and co-workers is all over social media. Most of his co-stars expressed their disbelief on Twitter.
