Canada’s first-ever Filipino Restaurant Month set in April
Canada will have its first-ever Filipino Restaurant Month this April, the Philippine Department of Tourism announced.
The new month-long celebration of Filipino culture and cuisine will be held in partnership with Philippine consulates and embassies across Canada.
During the inaugural Filipino Restaurant Month, a collection of restaurants in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, and Ottawa will showcase the vast variety and diverse flavors of Filipino food and beverages from various regions of the Philippines.
“
Filipino Restaurant Month aims to introduce and promote the Philippines to the Canadian mainstream market as a destination for unique gastronomic experiences,” says Soleil Tropicales, Tourism Attaché of Philippine Department of Tourism – San Francisco.
“Filipino food is integral to the country’s diverse culture with each region having its own unique and traditional recipes that are passed on from generation to generation—from traditional dishes such as ‘Adobo’ to unique dining experiences such as ‘Kamayan’ (also known as “Boodle Fight”).
To make the first Filipino Restaurant Month even more exciting, diners will also be able to enter to win a number of local and national prizes throughout the month, according to the DOT.
More information along with a full list of participating restaurants will released online soon.
