NEW YORK CITY — Mid-career Philippine-based contemporary realists are invited to submit their rendition of Dr. Jose Rizal’s portrait in honor of Philippine national hero’s 161st birth anniversary this year.

Eagle Eye Charities Inc (EEC) is working with Tagline 360 media and art groups to reach artists in the suburban areas of the Philippines for an opportunity to be featured in a New York cultural gala during the next celebration of Philippine Independence Day in June 2022 and during the Filipino-American National History Month in October 2022 at Philippine Center NYC.

Artists submitting their work must provide a personal profile and samples of portrait works done in the past. Submissions must be sent through the nonprofit website EagleCharities.org or by email to [email protected]. Participation will be confirmed via email. Requirements follow: Size: 24”x18”; Medium: oil on canvas; Genre: Contemporary Realism

Unsigned works must be submitted in high resolution photo by April 15, 2022. A committee of Eagle Eye Charities professional mentors based in the Philippines will authenticate the works and forthwith, nominate the Best of 10 as finalists, out of which the Top Three will be chosen by jurors from the Philippines and the US. All participants will be awarded Certificates of participation and invited to future Manila events and cocktails. Decision of jurors are final.

Top Three winners will receive official invitations for United States visa processing, round-trip tickets to New York City and paid accommodations. First Place gets $1,000, Second Place gets $750 and Third Place gets $500.

Winning entries will be owned by Eagle Eye Charities for continuing exhibitions at government and cultural centers based in New York and Washington, DC.

Winners will also conduct an invitational mural interaction in commemoration of Philippine Independence to be held  at NYC. Winners will become part of the EEC roster for educational outreach and will be featured at EEC online gallery. See past sessions by EEC renowned masters at Eaglecharities.org/mentoring.

Last June 2021, the New York based nonprofit held a mural commemoration for 500 Years of National Patriotism celebrating Filipino heroism from Lapu-Lapu to the modern-day healthcare heroes (1521-2021) painted by EEC Mentor and nominee for NCCA National Artist for Visual Arts, Master Nemi Miranda.
