Northshore Clinical Labs Continues to Test Thousands Daily for COVID-19
The COVID-19 pandemic brought the world to a standstill. Many people lost their lives, families, and everything due to this pandemic. However, it was only because of the frontline workers that the world could recover. Everyone working in hospitals, clinics, and medical facilities worked day and night to help people and bring their life back on track.
Northshore Clinical Labs is one such organization that sprang into action when the COVID-19 was ravaging the world. Previously a laboratory, Northshore Clinical Labs has evolved a lot and upgraded itself to a state-of-the-art facility in Chicago.
A relatively new company, it has given a phenomenal service by testing and containing thousands of people for COVID-19 to date. This has only been possible due to the massive network of the company’s high-capacity testing facilities across the country.
Last summer, the Northshore Clinical Labs supported more than 100 summer camps by testing the campers and staff for the deadly virus. Mr. Hirsh Kumar Mohindra, Director of Operations at Northshore Clinical Labs, expanded its operations to provide faster results as the campers could not participate in the activities until the result came up. Being a father himself, he understood the situations and drove the team to work longer hours to give out the results faster. Some campers got their PCR tests as early as 12-18 hours. The company organized many such events, and some are upcoming, too, designed to help people fight this pandemic.
One of the company’s biggest highlights is that it conducts thousands of tests every day. The well-trained and committed team members at the Northshore Clinical Labs working across the country have made it possible. Tests by the company are conducted in different places, including nursing homes, schools, summer camps, corporations, and many other locations. Along with testing people for COVID, Northshore Clinical Labs has also conducted many vaccination drives throughout the city of Illinois.
Omar Hussain of Northshore Clinical Labs decided to move their work forward and expand the operations by starting a full-fledged lab. Initially, starting the lab was challenging because of all the licenses, paperwork, and money needed for expansion. The investors were not ready to put their money, given the situation of the lab back then. That is when Mr. Hussain and his friend bootstrapped to start the lab. His friend’s mom invested the most money in the project, and she is currently the president of the Northshore Clinical Labs.
The lab was set by February 2020, before the pandemic hit the world. The lab was in the developing phase in the initial COVID days, but the clinic’s proactiveness helped it grow and spread its operations. Despite being a new lab, the clinic’s efficiency, productivity, and accuracy are definitely praiseworthy.
Curis Healthcare is another company owned by Mr. Hussain, where he has a 100% stake. The company is already working with several labs, and there has been an increase in the number of contracts due to the COVID pandemic. Talking about the Northshore Clinical Labs, it is seeing a revenue boost too. The clinic started its operation in early 2020, and by November of the same year, it was already testing several COVID samples per day.
Initially, the Northshore Clinical Labs started its operations in a 15,000 sq. ft. premises with a free clinic. But due to their excellent services, the company grew exponentially, and this is evident as they have taken two more offices to cope with the increasing work. The company plans to take up a 50000 sq. ft. office space soon to execute the 20000 Covid tests they are conducting daily successfully.
