Fil-Am cop under investigation kills himself in his car
RICHMOND, California — A Filipino American nine-year veteran of the San Francisco Police Department shot and killed himself in hi car in a parking lot Monday, December 18, after being pulled over Monday, by Richmond police.
Antonio Cacatian, 49, a resident of Richmond, Cacatian pulled into the Hilltop Mall parking lot by a Richmond police officer with lights flashing.
The Richmond officer heard a gunshot as he approached Cacatian’s driver’s side door.
Law enforcement sources told CBS San Francisco that Cacatian was being investigated for sex with a minor in Las Vegas.
The Richmond officer called for help when he heard the gunshot, saying he couldn’t see what’s in the vehicle because the windows were heavily tinted.
The officer used a shotgun-propelled beanbag to break Cacatian’s windshield and saw that he was alone and dead.
San Francisco police confirmed that Cacatian had been an officer with the department and he was under an investigation.
