Aaron Tran: The college dropout turned millionaire taking over the e-commerce space
Born to a hardworking Vietnamese family in the US, Aaron Tran has become a successful e-commerce entrepreneur. His parents were born in Vietnam, and took the brave leap of faith to move to the United States without any money or knowing any English. They ensured Aaron had access to the best education they could manage, getting him through high school and into college. All they wanted was for Aaron to complete his studies with a degree to his name and hopefully land a well-paying job.
However, Aaron proved to have other plans during his years in college. The young Aaron had grown up with a passion for the business world and viewed it as the opportunity to make his dreams come true. To him, success was any career aside from a 9–5 job that would allow him to be himself while chasing financial freedom. This led him to drop out of college and head straight into the business world.
His first venture was in the e-commerce industry, where he established four different Shopify stores to cash in on the industry. However, his lack of experience and industry know-how did not play to his advantage, and he found himself struggling to remain afloat. The outcome was the collapse of all the four stores, landing him in $5000 worth of debt. The whole experience left Aaron depressed with no clear path to follow.
Incredibly, the young, ambitious Aaron did not give up on his e-commerce business dream. He chose to keep the dream alive and take a break to learn everything he could to understand the industry.
“I dabbled in literally everything e-commerce. I tried out digital marketing, copywriting, network marketing, Shopify, Amazon FBA, Facebook Advertising, but I never got past the product research phase. I joined every single Facebook group and took away all the information I could, and I even bought courses,” says Aaron.
After a six-month break, Aaron came back as a more informed entrepreneur ready to conquer his fears to succeed in the industry. He had every reason to believe in e-commerce as his key to success and gave it his all. Though there were numerous obstacles on his way, Aaron proved to be sufficiently prepared, tackling them to stability and ultimately success in the industry. He is currently generating millions in sales a year, living his dream, and just bought his parents a well-deserved home.
Aaron also shares his story and secrets to success with other people to motivate them to achieve their goals. His advice to everyone is that you should not hold long onto your dreams, start today and figure out the rest as you go.
