‘Pink Caravans for Leni’ set on Sunday in 8 cities in Canada

Preparations for this Sunday’s Caravan of Hope in major cities in Canada are now in high gear despite the forecast of rains.

Rain or shine, the caravans will push through, the organizers said. It will be held in Victoria, Mainland Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa and Winnipeg on Sunday, Nov. 14, led by groups that networked recently.

In Vancouver, there were changes in the route to ensure better visibility for the campaign for Robredo and her running mate Kiko Pangilinan.

The new route will be  from St. Mary’s Parish on Joyce St, then to 41st then turn right to Fraser St., left turn to King Edward St., right turn to Main St. up to 12th Avenue then turn right again to Kingsway. After this, turn right to Knight St., through the Knight Bridge making a right Exit to Bridgeport then making a left on No. 3 Road then left at Alderbridge Road to the Landsdowne Mall parking lot (food court side).

For supporters in Calgary, the groups will have four meeting points (SW quadrant) Walmart Shawnessy back of Edo at 10 a.m., (SE quadrant) Ashley Homestore Deerfoot Meadows at 10 a.m., (NE quadrant) Makami College, Marlborough at 10 a.m. and (NW quadrant) CIBC parking lot, Country Hills at 10:30 a.m. The groups will converge at 12 noon for a Lugaw Picnic at the Rizal Monument, Nose Creek Regional Park in Airdrie.

The group in Victoria will meet at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Preschool parking lot at 757 Burnside Road, W, Victoria and converge in Mt. Douglas Park in Cordova Bay Road, Victoria.

In Ottawa, the groups will gather at 10 a.m. at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary on 321 Cody Ave.

For the Montreal caravan, the groups will meet at 10 a.m. at the Parc Mackenzie-King, 4900 Chemin de la Cote Sainte-Catherine, Montreal, QC H3W 306 (near Rizal Park).

The Toronto caravan will begin in the Patricia Kemp Community Centre on Dufferin St., Vaughn, Ontario and will end in Earl Bales Park at 4169 Bathurst Street, Toronto. It will start at 10 a.m.

The Manitoba group will have the Kildonan Park as culminating venue of the activity. There are five assembly points namely; Seafood City, Northgate, PCCM, Dr. Jose Rizal Park and Lucky Supermarket Jefferson at 11 a.m.
