U.S. Navy reservist from Tayabas is sealift command ‘Sailor of the Quarter’

GUAM -- Military Sealift Command Far East selected Petty Officer Perpetuo Quintua, a reservist on extended orders in Guam, as its Junior Sailor of the Quarter. While assigned to Ship Support Unit Guam as the lead medical representative, Quintua has been instrumental in keeping civil service mariners healthy and vaccinated. Petty Officer Perpetuo Quintua, a U.S. Navy reservist on extended orders in Guam, was named Military Sealift Command Far East’s junior Sailor of the Quarter.

Quintua, a native of Tayabas, Quezon, is assigned to Ship Support Unit Guam as the lead medical representative. He  has been instrumental in keeping civil service mariners healthy and vaccinated and in maintaining a Covid-free U.S. 7th Fleet and crews.

Quintua tracks the medical and personal health and well-being of civil service and contracted mariners. This includes keeping up with numerous details including medical testing, appointments, prescription refills, urgent care, and release from required quarantine periods upon arrival on Guam.

When not on active duty, Quintua works as a health educator with Guam’s Department of Public Health and Social Services.
