Rey Soul, a member of the pop-rap bandBlack Eyed Peas, sang “Lupang Hinirang,” the Philippine national anthem to open the fight.
Jessica Reynoso, aka J. Rey Soul, is a Filipino music artist who was in Season 1 of The Voice of Philippines reality show that took place in 2013.
She visited Manny Pacquiao in his training camp at the Wild Card Gym weeks ahead of the fight alongside Filipino American NBA star Jordan Clarkson and Black Eyed Peas singer Allan Pineda Lindo, better known by his stage name apl.de.ap, who recruited J. Rey Soul into the band.
Since then, J. Rey Soul has guested on the band’s 2018 project Masters of the Sun Vol. 1 and accompanied it on a world tour, According to Sportskeeda.com. The band’s longtime member Fergie left to focus on parental duties.
