Filipino immigration to Canada down by 18%

The Philippines in 2010 has been the number one source of Canadian immigration, except for one year.  The most recent statistics available show that in 2016, that number was down by 18 percent.

The number of Filipinos who arrived in 2015 reached 50,816. Last year the number dropped to 41,785, or 18 percent

In the recently released Statistics Canada reported in the recent census that Canada now has 103,940 more Tagalog speakers, an increase of 31percent over five years.
