Renowned concert pianist Sunico to perform in New York
NEW YORK — Internationally acclaimed pianist Raul Sunico will perform on Saturday, October 21, in celebration of Filipino American History Month.
Sunico will perform works by Berg, Canseco, De Leon, Chopin, Liszt, Rachmaninoff, Piazolla and Ravel. The concert will be at 7:30 p.m. at the Merkin Concert Hall, Kaufman Music Center, 129 West 67 Street.
The performance is being brought by J&S Productions, in cooperation with the Felipe P. de Leon Foundation and The Lewis College, Philippine Air Lines, The Filipino Channel ABS CBN and Ayalaland.

Sunico has performed in major stages in Asia, US and North America and Europe including Japan, China, India, Philippines, Austria, France, Germany, Spain, Mexico. He has performed at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Weill Recital Hall, Merkin Hall, Town Hall and numerous concert halls in the United States.
He has served as President of the Cultural Center of the Philippines since 2010. He was Dean of the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music.
Sunico started his musical career as winner of the Manila Symphony Orchestra’s Young Artist Auditions. He is recipient of a number of prestigious awards including Silver Medal for the Viotti International Piano Competition, Vercelli, Italy, finalist in International Piano Competition in Bolzano, Italy, Henry Cowell Prize in the University of Maryland International Piano Competitions.
