Holocaust-related ‘Quezon’s Game’ now streaming on Amazon Prime, Xfinity
CHICAGO – Are you looking for a good movie to watch during this pandemic-frigid winter lockdown? Check out QUEZON’S GAME on Amazon Prime or Xfinity on demand and other venues listed on the trailer.
The movie was on the big screen all over the country pre-Covid, but many viewers may have not gone to the theatres to see it. The film is a full-length movie that tells the story of how Manuel Quezon, Philippine Commonwealth President (1935-1944), was able to beat all odds to open the Philippines to at least 1,200 European Jews, saving them from Hitler’s Holocaust (See also Steven Spielberg’s Schiendler’s List).
Quezon had the help of then Lt. Col. Dwight Eisenhower and others, who “engineered” the plan and weathered odds against it at the time that other countries including the United States, turned their doors away. Queaon succeeded in bringing in a good number of Jews, with a lot more, had it not been for the outbreak of World War II.
Chicagoans and husband and wife actors David Bianco and Jennifer Blair-Bianco play the future U.S. President Eisenhower and his wife, Mamie, in the movie. Acclaimed actor Ramon Bagatsing plays Quezon while Rachel Alejandro takes on the role of his wife, Aurora.
