Fil-Am Telli Swift, fiancé Deontay Wilder to meet with Pope
LOS ANGELES – Filipino American philanthropist Telli Swift and fiancé, WBC World Heavyweight Champion Deontay Wilder, are meeting with Pope Francis in Rome today, Friday, December 13. WBC President Mauricio Sulaimán will accompany them.
Swift, founder-executive director of the Boxing Wags Association (BWA), model-social influencer, was born in Zambales, Philippines, raised in Japan and currently lives in the United States. She is fluent in Tagalog and English and also speaks Japanese.
Swift, Wilder and Sulaimán will visit infirmed children at the Bambino Gesù Hospital the morning of December 13. Immediately following they will have a private meeting with the Pope.
Swift stated, “Growing up as a Catholic Philippine-American it has always been a dream to meet the Pope, now I’m able to do so, and I’m honored and blessed for this once in a lifetime opportunity.”
Swift’s LA-based non-for profit e Boxing Wags Association, founded in 2018, comprises wives and girlfriends of active and retired boxers who are united in philanthropic initiatives that enhance the quality of life for families in the boxing community.
