SF’s Pistahan Festival ready to party Aug. 10-11
SAN FRANCISCO – This city’s diversity and rich Filipino community will be celebrated at the Pistahan Parade + Festival on August 10 and 11, 2019 at the Yerba Buena Gardens.
The best of Filipino art, dance, music, and food will be showcased at the Pistahan Festival. Organized by the Filipino American Arts Exposition, this two-day event represents one of the largest celebrations of Filipino Americans in the U.S.
The festival will feature many pavilions for exploration, discovery, and learning. There will also be lots of family fun with food contests and plenty of games and prizes too.
Pistahan is expected to draw thousands of people. This unique cultural event and celebration offers fun for the entire family and, best of all, admission is FREE!
The Pistahan Parade kicks off the event on Saturday, August 10 and will feature:
- Colorful themed floats
- Marching high school bands
- A Giant Human Philippines Flag
- A Jeepney driving down Market Street
- A Mega-Dance Cultural Contingent
- SF Giants Super Fans
- Various local celebrities
- The Bayanihan of San Francisco
After the Parade, the Pistahan Festival begins on Saturday, August 10, the continues on Sunday, August 11at Yerba Buena Gardens from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. right in the cultural heart of the city.
