QuietComfort 35 wireless: Bose reviews: The Design

The Bose QuietComfort 35 Wireless : Product Reviews

There is little difference between the design of Bose’s QuietComfort 25s and the 35s. In fact, one can hardly tell the difference until they are closely placed together for careful observation.

The earcups are simply designed and oval-shaped. Though the earcups don’t come with much of a fashionable design like other competitors it still remains preferable. Each earcup has a Bose logo on it and it’s structured in a way that it hardly draws much attention.

Bose QC35 is also available in black or silver. In addition, it’s easily foldable. It is 7.1 inches long and 6.7 inches wide with a thickness of 3.1 inches. And it is 8.3 ounces in weight.

The earcups are well-cushioned and positioned in a way that makes it comfortable to place it on the head for several hours without feeling worn-off. Another reason for cushioning the earcups is that the headband attaching the two ear cups must be properly padded, so as to make it lighter.

Bose QC35s Earcups Composition

The left earcup carries the audio jack to connect the 2.5mm jack to your device. However, the right earcup should even be the major point of focus because it contains the major function keys and ports; micro USB charging port, power slider, pause and play buttons (applicable for iOS and Android). To pair the QC35s, the power slider should be tilted to the right, to activate the pairing mode of the headphone. Then navigate to the wireless Bluetooth options of your phone or laptop. In case your phone has an NFC-support, there is headphones native and faster method of pairing by simply putting your headphones in pairing mode and placing it against the rear of your phone.

How to Switch Connections Between Two Devices

Another interesting feature is the ease of switching connections between two devices. The headphone can be connected to both a phone and laptop while easily switching between both alternately. When operated wirelessly. Bose QC35s promises to last for 20 hours and it operates for 40 hours when connected as a wired headphone.

On pairing with a new device, it informs you of the choice of devices available and it’s battery status by playing a brief audio notification. It rounds up the battery status to the nearest 10%.

To cap it all, Bose QC35s has a microphone that enables users to make phone calls including the noise-canceling feature that removes the background noise.

Other Features

New Noise-Cancellation Technology

The Bose QuietComfort 35 Wireless : Product Reviews

Obviously, there are lots of reasons Bose QuietComfort 35 is quite expensive and this includes the Active Noise-Cancellation technology. This technology eliminates noise from the background. It takes unwanted noises from the environment and sends it over to a chip on the left and right earcups. Another unique feature it can adjust sounds automatically, then the adjustment equalizes the sound to the relative background noise. The adjustment gives the listening experience a balanced effect. This way it produces no harsh sound. Notably, we can say that the two major power features of Bose QuietComfort 35 are; Active Noise-canceling(ANC) and Sound Equalization. No matter what you’re listening to, Bose QuietComfort 35 got you covered.

Performance

Bose QC35 comes with the standard Bluetooth settings for streaming music but does not have the Apt X settings. Meanwhile, AptX is the only streaming option that is supported on Apple’s devices. The reason for the omission of AptX in the Bluetooth configuration of QC35s is not clear, but the sound is still lovely and crisp, nevertheless.

The QC35s has a good soundstage effect, which immerses people in the sound. Bose QuietComfort 35 provides one of the best calling experience. You don’t have to pick your smartphone before you make a phone call. When speaking with someone on all, it feels like you’re having a proximal conversation. Also, with the support of the ANC, the conversation has gotten better and clearer. And it gives us quality sounds regardless of the surrounding loud noises- something that is impossible without Bose QC35s.

Battery

The Bose QuietComfort 35 uses a built-in rechargeable battery, unlike its predecessor that uses AAA batteries for power. In this case, the battery is a Lithium-Ion battery. Not everyone likes the idea of a built-in battery but the development is technically okay. The battery life is quite strong; 20 hours with wireless connection and 40 hours for wired connection. Even when the artery runs out, the headset can be used by connecting it via the audio jack, but the only thing that would be missing is the noise-canceling technology.

Comfort

Bose QuietComfort 35 is designed to provide so much comfortability for its users and the overall quality of comfort can be seen in the foam-cushion in the earcups with an outer layer of leather. The best part is that the headphones are flexible and it fits perfectly to the head without an excess gap.

Reliability

Bose QuietComfort 35 is very reliable because it has been optimized in nearly all of its areas. The Active Noise cancellation technology and the sound equalizers make it emit good sound quality. The high-quality materials used in the production of the headphones makes it very comfortable and reliable.

Colors

The Bose QuietComfort 35 Wireless : Product Reviews

Just like previous models, Bose offers its product in limited color choices and the Bose QuietComfort 35 is only available in black, silver, and rose gold.

Bluetooth and NFC:

As stated above, the Bluetooth and NF are the wire-free configurations that make the Bose QuietComfort 35 stand out from previous models. Though it doesn’t provide an augmented sound experience like AptX and Bowers, it still gives a sound quality experience. You can also connect with multiple Bluetooth sources at a time, unlike, previous models.

The Bluetooth range for the quite comfortable is the 33-foot range. Within that range, the connection will work well and it is quite reasonable. The only that affects the highly recommended range is when there is a dividing wall. The Bluetooth connectivity also helps to set a timer to the headset. It automatically turns off at the designated time.

Sound Quality

The sound quality of Bose QuietComfort 35 is one of the best around. Activating the Anti Noise-cancelling option provides a fantastic sound without distortion.

The Bose QuietComfort 35 does not overstretch the bass, which explains why it’s the favorite of audiophiles and regular listeners. The noise cancellation helps block the world around. The cups also help to keep the ear isolated and free from noise pollution.

  • Lows: over the years, Bose is not known for having a strong bass and Bose QuietComfort 35 is not exempted in this case. Though, it might not really produce a cool sound if you listen to a song with strong bass at the maximum.
  • Mids: Bose products are very great when it comes to mid-range. Instruments such as strings and even vocals have a great number of details and they are found in the mid-range.
  • Highs: Bose tends to cut off highs leaving less detail. Even at maximum volume, high sound good because there is no harshness.

Functional Component

As expected, there’d be new functional keys in the Bose QuietComfort 35 since it is a wireless model. It is necessary to have a pause/play and skip buttons. On the right side of the earphone, there is the power button. And under it, the pause/play button is located. There is a  back button to go back to the previous song and also a skip button to go the next song including the volume gluttons.

The Micro-USB charging port is located at the bottom side of the headphone.

If you check the bottom of the right headphone, you’d see two light indicators — one to indicate battery power and the other is to show the Bluetooth connection status. Once the headphone is turned on it indicates the battery status playing a short audio notification. At the left end, there is the 3.5mm headphone jack. It helps to connect the headphone to the device whenever you’re out of battery and you intend to extend the battery life.

When Bose QuietComfort 35 is connected to a device via the audio jack, the battery life is longer and it can extend to 40 hours, however, when it is connected without wire, it takes 20 hours. The audio jack is as long as 4 feet long.

The Structure

Here, we consider the structure and material of Bose QuietComfort 35. The structural build-up is really good and makes sense because it’s not made of stainless steel or heavy material that would add unnecessary weight to it. The design of Bose QuietComfort 35 makes it superb and outstanding. Apart from the light effect, it has on the head, it also gives a hugging effect to the ears. Coupled with its flexibility, one can conclude that the build is a really great one.
