Bad Saint’s Chef Tom Cunanan wins prestigious James Beard award

WASHINGTON, DC — Filipino American chef Tom Cunanan of the restaurant Bad Saint was named Best Chef in the Mid-Atlantic category by the 29th annual James Beard Awards.

Cunanan had been nominated under the Best Chef: Mid-Atlantic category for the third consecutive year. Bad Saint is known for its novel rendition of Filipino cuisine. “Good Food for Good” is the theme of this year’s prestigious James Beard Awards.

Bad Saint of Washington, DC was No. 2 in the Bon Appetit list of America’s Best New Restaurants in 2016. Cunanan was first nominated for James Beard award in 2017.
