Does the Logitech MX Master 2s do what it says it does? Why should I get it, and what makes this mouse so much better than alternative options?

This review has the answers to all of your questions regarding the Logitech MX Master 2s. We have taken a closer look at what this mouse has to offer the everyday computer user; what features make this mouse one of the most comfortable computing tools on the market?

What is Logitech MX Master 2s?

The Logitech MX Master 2s is a right-handed mouse that measures 126.0 mm x 85.7 mm x 48.4 mm, and unlike other standard mouse options, it is larger in size, weighing up to 145 grams.

With four rubber grips on the bottom, and a 4000Dpi Darkfield Sensor, the Logitech mouse’s high precision movement and tracking is superior to any other mouse. The mouse is beautifully designed, with the comfort of the user being kept as priority. It has a rubberized finish, starting from the thumb-rest, extending to the whole top and stretching around to fit comfortably in the palm. The left and right click buttons are made with smooth plastic, and feature a sleek matte finish for a nice, modern aesthetic.

Having a second wheel next to the thumb-grip, and a gesture button on the thumb rest, enables an easier horizontal scrolling and back-forward maneuvering. Also, below the primary scroll wheel is a “mode shift” button that enables users to switch between two different scrolling speeds.  Also available for users to choose from is the “ratchet-style” scroll mode, and “free spin” mode, known for enabling a smoother and faster scrolling speed.

To top it all off is the Logitech Flow System, an extra feature of the Logitech MX Master 2s that allows user connection to three different computers simultaneously. This operation works in a flow state, in that, the user can work on the three different systems without manually shifting between processors. The Logitech Flow system is not OS selective, which implies that it can function on Windows or MacOS without difficulty, as long as the “Logitech Options” software is installed on each computer. Switching from one system to another is done by moving the on-screen cursor to the edge of the screen, and simply continuing to scroll onto other monitors. Swipe towards the next system, and the cursor will transition smoothly onto the next computer. This particular feature makes work less stressful and efficient, increasing the level of productivity of professionals like video editors, graphic designers, and programmers who work on multiple systems simultaneously. The MX Master 2s is a solution to several problems that computer users deal with on a daily basis.

Logitech MX Master 2s Review

When I heard of the upgraded version of the Logitech MX Master, I thought it was just a waste of money; my old mouse was working fine, and what could a mouse possibly feature that was so amazing?

The Logitech MX Master 2s is an exceptional mouse with exceptional capacity and capabilities. It has unique features that cannot be found in any other mouse (not even its predecessor). With the combination of high precision tracking (which is not surface selective), dual USB ports, Bluetooth connectivity, a very long battery life, and cross computer control, this mouse is effective for all professional and casual users alike. This mouse is also rechargeable, even while in use, due to the addition of a USB wire. The productivity level of the user increases while using this mouse due to its multi-tasking ability. Created with a convenient and ergonomic design, and its unique software feature, Logitech Flow, and multiple mouse wheels, the MX Master 2s is unlike any other mouse on the market. Logitech claims it will take seventy days before the battery of the MX Master 2s depletes if it is switched off properly. It is important to add that this mouse does not take long before it is fully charged, and just a few minutes of charging can last more than a whole day. Logitech was not joking about the battery power. With aesthetics in mind, the MX Master 2s comes in two different color-schemes, gray and silver, giving users an opportunity to pick an exterior that they identify with.

With Logitech Flow, I found it very comfortable to work on my Mac and PC simultaneously. I even copied/cut and pasted from one system to another.  With options to choose from between Bluetooth connection or USB connection, or even both, the mouse take hardware compatibility to a whole new level.  I was able to maneuver the mice around on my computer desk while using it with my laptop and Mac without worrying about over extending the chord. I didn’t have to use a USB cord with either of the two gadgets.

The downsides to this innovative mouse are that left handed individuals will find that using this mouse is a bit uncomfortable. Additionally, the fact that there are two confusing buttons on the mouse (the back-forward gesture button beside the thumb rest) that can occasionally be accidentally tapped, resulting in uncalled for functions, was a slight nuisance. However, once the user gets used to all the ins-and-outs that the Logitech MX Master 2s has to offer, they will find it to be a simple and effective gadget.

The added size of the mouse might feel a bit foreign at first, but the sturdy base and ergonomic handling speak to the mouse as a reliable piece of computer hardware. The level of productivity and functionality offered by the Logitech MX Master 2s justifies the expensive price.

Conclusion

Weighing the pros and cons of this device, we consider this mouse to be an exceptionally valuable product. The MX Master 2s is a must-have for every casual user and professional user alike; the ease of use makes any computer task a breeze. However, we understand that everyone has budget requirements; your current mouse may be sufficient for now, but keep the MX Master 2s in mind when considering potential mouse upgrades.

Considering the cross-computer use, dual USB and Bluetooth connectivity, exceptionally long battery life, and other perks offered by the MX Master 2s, it can be accurately described as the best mouse on the planet. As for me, any mouse aside from the MX Master 2s is no mouse at all.
