Stewards tackle need to protect California’s coasts

SAN FRANCISCO — The Coastal Act, a landmark piece of legislation that helped preserve California’s 1,100-mile coastline for generations of Californians, marked its 40^th anniversary last year, 2016. California’s coast faces the combined risk of rising seas and development pressures.
