Fil-Am nabbed for mail theft in Tracy, California

TRACY, California —  Tracy police arrested Joseph Dumlao of Stockton, for mail theft after the 29-year-old Fil-Am allegedly broke into a community mailbox on Choisser Court at about 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30.

Dumlao was arrested the following morning, when investigators with the San Joaquin County Delta Regional Auto Theft Team informed the Tracy Police Department that a van that Dumlao allegedly used to get away was found in a Stockton shopping center. Dumlao tried to get away but a Tracy Police dog caught him.

Dumlao also had warrants for his arrest for robbery from the Stockton Police Department and from the California Highway Patrol for evading a peace officer, possession of a stolen vehicle and resisting arrest.

He was treated for bite wounds at a local hospital, then booked into San Joaquin County Jail. He is charged with nine felonies, including five counts of robbery, and a misdemeanor and faces $775,000 bail.
