Filipino crew member dies aboard German cruise ship

Mein Schiff 1 crew member Syne Diente died of a heart attack. TUI

A Filipino crew member employed by the German cruise company TUI Cruises died of cardiac arrest aboard the cruise ship Mein Schiff 1.

Cabin attendant Syne Diente, age 39, passed away on Jan.12. Diente’s cabin mate alerted the ship’s medical personnel who quickly responded to the scene. Unfortunately, it was too late, a Crew Center report said.

A shipmate reported that ship’s staff were deeply saddened by Diente’s demise, with the captain struggling to speak and breaking into tears as he relayed the news at an emergency staff meeting.
