The story of one of the Philippines’ most influential rock bands is set to reach a wider global audience as New York-based distributor Abramorama brings “Eraserheads: Combo On The Run” to theaters across North America.

Abramorama officially acquired the North American theatrical rights to the award-winning documentary. The acquisition represents the company’s first-ever Philippine documentary, placing the project alongside a respected catalog of music films including “The Beatles: Eight Days a Week — The Touring Years.”

Known as a leading innovator in event cinema and music-focused film distribution, Abramorama specializes in theatrical releases designed to connect directly with fan communities.

The company has built a reputation for maximizing audience engagement through hybrid theatrical and multi-platform strategies, helping documentaries expand beyond traditional markets.

The film, directed and produced by Maria Diane Ventura, chronicles the journey of the iconic Filipino band Eraserheads, from their beginnings as university students in 1989 to becoming a generation-defining act whose reunion concert later drew nearly 250,000 fans.

Set against the backdrop of the Philippines’ post-EDSA People Power Revolution era, the documentary explores not only the band’s musical legacy but also broader themes tied to cultural change and personal reconciliation.

The North American rollout is scheduled to begin on April 24, with screenings planned in multiple cinemas across the US and Canada. Ahead of its theatrical release, the film will also be highlighted during an official event at SXSW 2026.
