A nationwide recall of Chips Ahoy’s Baked Bites Brookie in December 2025 is being expanded, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced this week.

The Feb. 4 report explains that an error in the mixing process created a potential choking hazard, prompting an expanded recall by the American chocolate cookie brand.

“Due to the characteristics and size of the small starch clumps, the clump could constitute a choking hazard, particularly in special risk groups, such as young children and the elderly,” the FDA writes.
