Chips Ahoy cookie bites nationwide recall expanded

A nationwide recall of Chips Ahoy’s Baked Bites Brookie in December 2025 is being expanded, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced this week.
The Feb. 4 report explains that an error in the mixing process created a potential choking hazard, prompting an expanded recall by the American chocolate cookie brand.
“Due to the characteristics and size of the small starch clumps, the clump could constitute a choking hazard, particularly in special risk groups, such as young children and the elderly,” the FDA writes.

The following are the affected products, along with their codes and “Best When Used By” dates. The expansion includes one additional code date (10MAY2026) and two UPCs of product pouches:

The announcement cites no reports of injury or illnesses from the products and that no other Chips Ahoy products are reportedly affected by the recall.
Consumers are advised not to eat the products if they have them already.
