Filipino British singer and Pinoy Big Brother alum Bailey May made history years ago as the first Filipino representative of the global pop group Now United. Today, the ensemble welcomes another proud Filipina into its family.

Filipino American dancer, actress and singer Jayna Hughes’ official introduction as Now United’s 20th member was revealed through the group’s social media and YouTube channels, coinciding with the announcement of their much-anticipated world tour.

This marks not only a new chapter for the group but also a milestone for Jayna, who has been with Now United behind the scenes, from boot camps to performing as a guest on tour, and is now stepping into the spotlight as an official member.

“UNITERS…IT’S FINALLY OFFICIAL!!! AHH, I couldn’t be more grateful and excited to be representing the Philippines w/ Now United!” Jayna wrote in an Instagram post.

“Thank you so much Bailey for sharing this special moment and title with me! This truly is a full circle moment…from being picked for boot camp, opening their tours, performing with them on tour, and now being welcomed as an official member.”

Bailey personally welcomed Jayna in an official video, reading a letter that symbolizes her entry into the group.

“I’d like you to share the number 9 with me, and represent the Philippines. It’s time for you to forever represent the Philippines,” Bailey said. “We’re breaking tradition a little bit this time and having two of us to represent No. 9 on this tour.”

Formed in 2017 by Idols creator and Spice Girls mastermind Simon Fuller, Now United is known for its international lineup, bringing together young talents from across the globe. With Jayna’s addition, the Philippines now holds a special double representation.

The group expressed their excitement on social media: “Philippines in the house! Bailey is joining us on tour, and we can’t wait to be on stage with him again. Uniters, are you ready?! See you soon!”
