Palindrome

If you’re planning a special occasion, like a wedding, launching a business or making a big life decision, this month might just be your lucky charm.

Starting May 20 through May 29, the calendar will display a rare and visually satisfying sequence of 10 consecutive palindrome dates, where the numbers read the same forward and backward. For example, 5/20/25, 5/21/25 and so on.

While last year’s palindromic sequence took place in April, the pattern now shifts to May for 2025. Countries that follow the MM/DD/YY format, including the United States and the Philippines, will witness the unique occurrence.

Here are the palindrome dates:

  • 5/20/25
  • 5/21/25
  • 5/22/25
  • 5/23/25
  • 5/24/25
  • 5/25/25
  • 5/26/25
  • 5/27/25
  • 5/28/25
  • 5/29/25

But what makes palindrome dates so special beyond their satisfying symmetry? Many believe they bring good luck.

“Palindrome dates are especially notable because they are rare. For this reason, they are believed to be lucky,” says the Farmers’ Almanac. And while they aren’t quite the same as angel numbers in numerology, both are considered spiritually meaningful and are often seen as a green light to set intentions or make heartfelt wishes.

In fact, these dates are so symbolic that couples across the globe often choose them to mark life-changing moments.

“Some cultures believe palindrome dates to be lucky,” the Farmers’ Almanac also notes. “Which is why many people choose these dates for wedding celebrations. It also looks attractive to have the unique pattern of numbers appear on an invitation that’s a lifetime keepsake.”

Since 2011, a streak of 10 consecutive palindrome dates has appeared annually, becoming a quiet but charming tradition for those who follow number patterns.

Well, if you believe in luck, love the aesthetic or simply want a date to remember, this May’s palindrome streak might just be the perfect time to say “I do,” sign a deal or start something new. And if you miss it, don’t worry because the pattern is expected to repeat in June next year.
