Elton Lugay column IDNEW YORK — As we wrap up Women’s History Month, I’m excited to announce that the Loida Lewis Podcast is back with its highly anticipated third season, premiering this Sunday, March 30, at 8 p.m. Eastern. You can catch all the action on YouTube, Spotify, and Apple.

Loida Nicolas Lewis, the inspiring host of the show, truly embodies resilience and empowerment. At 80, she’s a trailblazing Filipina lawyer, businesswoman, philanthropist and advocate for the AANHPI community.

As the chair and CEO of TLC Beatrice, Loida has broken barriers, being the first Filipina and Asian woman to pass the New York bar without attending law school. Reflecting on her journey, this Fil-Am icon shared, “I can’t believe we’re already in Season 3! What started as a simple idea during my book tour in 2023 has blossomed into over 40 episodes and counting!”

During her memoir tour for “Why Should Guys Have All the Fun?” Loida received countless requests for life advice, covering everything from personal relationships to business insights. This prompted her to realize the wealth of wisdom she still has to share, especially with young adults navigating their own paths. Her commitment to education and culture shines through her philanthropic work with The Reginald F. Lewis Foundation, which has contributed over $37 million to various initiatives since its inception.

Teaming up with the talented crew behind the popular podcast Over A Glass or Two, including director JV Valino and host Jessy Daing, Loida quickly brought her vision to life, adding Lora Nicolas Olaes as executive producer. Production kicked off in November 2023, setting the stage for authentic conversations that inspire and uplift.

With the motto “Let’s live, laugh, love, and learn together,” the Fil-Am podcast aims to create a vibrant space for storytelling and practical advice, particularly for women and minorities.

Each episode features candid chats with remarkable guests who share their unique journeys toward success and fulfillment. Loida’s own journey of resilience includes winning a discrimination case against the US Immigration and Naturalization Service and serving as General Attorney in the New York Federal Office.

Season 1 debuted last year, featuring 13 episodes filled with intimate conversations with extraordinary Filipinos like Broadway star Red Concepcion and award-winning journalist Karen Davila, who was appointed as a UN Women National Goodwill Ambassador for the Philippines in 2023.

The second season followed in October, introducing listeners to Hollywood stars like Lou Diamond Phillips and Emmy-winning filmmaker of “Nurse Unseen” Michele Josue.
