4 people injured in shooting at Filipino restaurant parking lot

Four people were shot and injured outside The Grill By Miss G, a Filipino restaurant in Hayward, California, late Saturday night.
According to the Hayward Police Department, the March 1 incident occurred around 10:50 p.m. in the Filipino restaurant’s parking lot.
Police officers arrived at the scene and found three victims with gunshot wounds, while a fourth victim sought medical attention independently.
No arrests have been made as of press time and authorities have not released a description of the suspect, according to a KRON4 report.
Known for its Filipino food, live music and karaoke nights, The Grill by Miss G addressed the shooting incident in an Instagram post, calling it an “isolated incident.”
“As a cherished part of the Hayward and Castro Valley community, we are deeply saddened by the incident that occurred outside our restaurant. Our thoughts are with those affected and their families and we are fully cooperating with law enforcement.” the post read.

The Filipino restaurant has never experienced an incident like this in its many years in business.The restaurant added, “Ensuring the safety of our guests and community is our top priority.”

According to Pew Research, about a third of US adults have reported that they personally own a firearm. The rising gun deaths and mass shootings have prompted growing concerns.
Citing the impact of gun violence across the state, the US surgeon general declared gun violence a public health crisis last year.
