Fil-Am feminist among world’s ‘Most Inspirational Women’

ORLANDO – A pioneering Filipino American feminist has returned to the Philippines after three decades to receive a prestigious global award.
Melody Garcia was recognized as one of the “50 Most Inspirational Women” for her contributions in business, philanthropy, innovation and leadership. Notably, she is one of only two Fil-Am awardees from the US, highlighting the significant representation of Filipino Americans in this global recognition.
The awards celebrated women worldwide who have made significant impacts across various industries, including commerce, education, the arts and government. Other awardees hailed from countries such as Bahrain, Malaysia, Singapore, India, the UAE, Zimbabwe, Jordan and more.

This year’s ceremony, hosted by Titanium Magazine under The Prodigy Bureau, took place in Manila. Each award recipient was meticulously vetted, showcasing a proven track record of excellence, according to the organizers.

“I am deeply honored to be recognized alongside incredible Filipino women like Sonia Bermejo,” Garcia told Inquirer.net USA. “This award is shared with my peers, volunteers and supporters who align with our vision of maximizing human potential.”
Founded in Dubai in 2017 by Charmaine Love Sealana, The Prodigy Bureau is a global platform that honors individuals shaping the world through leadership and innovation. The organization fosters collaboration for a sustainable future, with a strong focus on women’s empowerment, participating in events such as the Global Women Empowerment Summit.

Garcia’s accolades include a lifetime achievement award from the Presidential Volunteer Service Awards and being a three-time Congressional award recipient. Her advocacy with UNICEF USA exemplifies global leadership and impactful innovation.
As a certified master coach, Garcia is a multimedia personality promoting “Social Conscious Leadership” as an international speaker, author, columnist and podcaster. She founded UNICEF UNITE in Orlando, advocating for children’s rights globally. Garcia also leads the 14th Congressional Action Team for UNICEF in the US, representing 190 countries in child advocacy.
Garcia said her Christian faith and dedication to global partnerships have inspired her to connect with leaders and diplomats around the world. Her influence fosters collaboration between nations, highlighting the possibilities of international cooperation for sustainable development and inclusive growth. Following the award ceremony, Garcia met with First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos to discuss critical issues and opportunities for collaboration.
