The search continues for two missing Filipino American toddlers, whose mother was found dead at her ex-partner’s home in July last year.
The toddlers’ family from Sacramento, Calif., has raised the reward to $12,000 for leads to help locate 2-year-old Mateo Lee and 4-year-old Athena Lee.
The toddlers’ mother, 28-year-old Angelica Bravo, was found dead at the North Sacramento home of her ex-boyfriend, Camron Lee.
Police officers said the toddlers were last seen with their father, Camron, whose car was found abandoned in Ensenada, Mexico.
In a social media post, the toddlers’ grandmother, Dawn Bodea, announced the increased cash reward for information leading to their safe return.
Expressing her grief over losing her daughter and the disappearance of her grandchildren, Bodea made an emotional appeal for help finding Athena and Mateo.
“Today marks six months since you’ve been gone, Angelica. I miss you and Athena and Mateo like crazy and wake up every morning with this heaviness in my heart,” Bodea wrote.
Bodea and her family, who initially offered a $10,000 reward, now aim to raise $50,000 to expedite the search for the missing toddlers.

Ongoing investigation
The Sacramento Police continue to coordinate with local, state and federal agencies to locate the children.
The children are believed to be with Camron Lee, but investigators have not issued an arrest warrant as his involvement in a crime has not been proven.
Angelica Bravo’s cause of death remains “undetermined.”
Sacramento Police spokesperson Officer Anthony Gamble said their priority is finding Mateo and Athena, according to a CBS News report.
Anyone with information about the missing toddlers’ whereabouts is urged to contact the Sacramento Police Department at (916) 808-5471 or (916) 808-0560.
Bodea said donations to support the reward fund can be sent via this link. She is also asking the public to share her post on social media to help spread awareness.
