Working tirelessly in hospitals across the world, Filipino nurses have long been recognized as pillars of the global healthcare system.

Their dedication and care became even more apparent during the COVID-19 pandemic when they stood at the frontlines, risking their lives daily to combat the crisis.

This journey of sacrifice and service takes center stage in “Nurse Unseen,” a documentary set to premiere at the Manila International Film Festival (MIFF) 2025 in Los Angeles.

The Manila International Film Festival, running from Jan. 30 to Feb. 2, 2025, promises to be a grand showcase of Filipino cinema on an international stage.

Beyond “Nurse Unseen,” audiences can look forward to an exciting lineup of films, including entries from the recent Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) such as Jun Robles Lana’s “And the Breadwinner Is…” and Jason Paul Laxamana’s “Hold Me Close.”

Additionally, special screenings of historic classics like “Genghis Khan” (1950) and “A Filipino in America” (1938) will highlight the legacy of Filipino filmmakers.

Tickets for the screenings and gala are now available on the MIFF website. Screenings will be held at the TCL Chinese Theatre, located at 6925 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood, Calif.
