Mark Hamill, Mandy Moore, other stars evacuate amid LA wildfires
LOS ANGELES – Several Hollywood celebrities have been forced to evacuate their homes as the massive Palisades fire in Los Angeles continues to spread, destroying structures along its path.
Among the 30,000 residents under an evacuation order were Star Wars’ Mark Hamill, Mandy Moore, Heidi Montag and Eugene Levy.
In an Instagram post, Hamill said he evacuated from Malibu at 7 p.m., saying it was “so last-minute there were small fires on both sides of the road as we approached PCH.”
He confirmed arriving safely at his daughter’s home in another part of Los Angeles and described the blaze as the “most horrific fire since ’93.”

Moore, who was forced to evacuate the home she shares with Taylor Goldsmith, lead singer of the American folk rock band Dawes, and their children also posted an update on Instagram.
Moore wrote she was safe with “kids, dogs and cats” and “praying and grateful for the first responders.”

Filmmaker Guillermo del Toro and actor Eugene Levy, who is best known for his roles in “American Pie” and “Schitt’s Creek” were also evacuated, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Levy, who has served as honorary mayor of Pacific Palisades since 2021, told the Los Angeles Times that the “smoke looked pretty black and intense.”
Celebrities Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt have also shared their experiences on social media as they evacuated their homes amid the raging fire.

Pratt shared that his house had burned down. “Update: I’m watching our house burn down on the security cameras,” Pratt wrote.
Many other celebrities, including Chris Pratt, offered their support.
“Please send prayers and strength tonight to everyone in Los Angeles affected by these devastating fires,” Pratt wrote on Instagram.
“Thank you to the brave firefighters and first responders who are working tirelessly to protect lives, homes and wildlife as they battle fast-moving wildfire fueled by fierce winds. You are true heroes, and we are endlessly grateful for your sacrifice and courage. Let’s all come together to support one another during this tough time.”

Steve Guttenberg, known for his lead roles in “Police Academy” and “Three Men and a Baby” helped with the evacuation efforts.
In an interview with KTLA, he urged the residents to heed the evacuation warnings, saying, “We got a huge fire up there, we got huge winds right now, and it’s really important for people to help each other. It’s really important for everyone to band together and not worry about your personal property. Just get out. Get your loved ones and get out.”
